Job summary

Farmers Home Furniture is launching a Store Manager Trainee (SMT) program in the United States. The SMT will receive in-store operations training, online learning, role immersion, and live events to prepare for Store Manager responsibilities.

Participants rotate through Farmers Academy, Thrive Program, and In-Person Live Training, aiming for permanent placement based on performance and geographic needs. Overnight travel may be required, and the HO emphasizes our values.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; three (3) years experience in practical supervisory retail and/or sales.
• Must possess and maintain a valid State Driver’s License and must be able to travel overnight.
• Strong leadership and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Completes Farmers Academy training, Thrive Program rotations, live training events, projects, assessments, and documentation.
• Attends initial online Orientation with Supervisor to review program structure and timelines.
• Participates in weekly SMT Check In Meetings.
• Assists in day-to-day store operations including sales, credit, collections, warehouse, delivery, and bookkeeping.
• Operates the Company's POS systems and related tools.
• Sells merchandise, creates contracts, collects payments, and assists with approvals.
• Assists with inventory counts, store displays, promotions, and sales events.
• May work across multiple store locations to meet training needs.
• May manage a store location in the SMT's absence.
• May travel to training locations and submit travel expense reports per policy.
• Adheres to all Company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
