Job summary

Farmers Home Furniture is launching a Store Manager Trainee (SMT) Program in the United States to prepare associates for permanent Store Manager roles through structured in-store training, online learning, and live events.

The program blends hands-on supervision with Thrive rotations, Farmers Academy courses, and real-world store operations across training locations, with placement decisions based on performance and geographic needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Three years of practical supervisory retail and/or sales experience.
• Must possess and maintain a valid State Driver’s License and must be able to travel overnight.

Responsibilities

• Completes Farmers Academy training, Thrive rotations, live training events, projects, assessments, and documentation.
• Attends initial online Orientation with Supervisor to review structure, expectations, timelines, and training requirements.
• Participates in required SMT Check In Meetings weekly.
• Assists in day-to-day store operations including sales, credit, collections, warehouse, delivery, bookkeeping and office functions.
• Operates point of sale systems, applications, and operational tools.
• Assists with inventory, displays, promotions, and sales events.
• May work in multiple store locations and may manage a store in the Store Manager's absence.
• May travel to other training locations and submit travel reports per policy.
• Adheres to company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
