Job summary

Dollar General Winters, TX is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to assist the Store Manager in staffing, inventory management, merchandising, and daily store operations. The role focuses on developing the external candidate for the Store Manager position for a limited period.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, maintaining store compliance, ensuring in-stock levels, and delivering excellent customer service while following company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit controls.
• Ability to learn and perform IBM cash register functions and generate reports.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and staging, stocking, and pricing.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management, including damages, markdowns, and turnover.
• Follow prescribed ordering practices to maintain in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership and store operations support.
• Assist in store opening/closing and cash control procedures.
• Review operating statements for trends and cost controls.
• Complete all paperwork per guidelines and deadlines.
