Job summary

Dollar General in Texas is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in implementing store processes, supervise staff, manage inventory, stocking and receiving, and handle daily store needs. This role is temporary to develop external candidates for the Store Manager position.

You will assist in recruiting, merchandising, inventory controls, cash handling, and ensuring secure deposits. The position requires leadership experience in retail and a commitment to customer service

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 2+ years in a leadership or managerial role.
• 2+ years in a retail grocery store preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assists with store merchandising by staging, stocking and storage of merchandise; pricing according to practices and manager direction.
• Assists in all aspects of inventory management; prepare and conduct inventories.
• Follows ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provides superior customer service leadership.
• Operates store in store manager’s absence.
• Reviews operating statements to identify trends, opportunities, and shrink.
• Completes paperwork according to guidelines and deadlines.
