Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate in Jonesboro, AR to assist the Store Manager in daily store operations, staffing, inventory, and customer service leadership. The role focuses on developing potential Store Managers and supporting store processes during a limited period.

The candidate will help with opening/closing, cash controls, merchandising, and compliance with policies, while contributing to a safe, well-organized shopping environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of retail experience is preferred for external candidates.
• Ability to read diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
• Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bilingual Spanish may be preferred at some locations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising including staging, stocking and pricing according to store manager direction.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management and conduct inventories.
• Follow prescribed ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Act as a role model by following company procedures and policies.
• Participate in store opening and closing activities.
• Ensure secure handling of company funds and cash controls.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked store and safe environment.
• Operate store in the manager's absence and review operating statements for trends.
• Complete paperwork and documentation on time.
