Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate in Little Rock, AR to support the Store Manager in staffing, inventory, merchandising and customer service. This role helps develop external candidates for the Store Manager position and holds the role for a limited period.

Responsibilities include assisting with recruiting, stocking, inventory, pricing, and store opening/closing, while ensuring cash handling and safety policies are followed. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret diagrams, safety rules, and procedures.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including deposit controls.
• Ability to learn and perform IBM cash register functions.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Awareness of cash, safety and security policies (keys, deposits, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and staging of merchandise per guidelines.
• Assist inventory management and prepare inventories.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Participate in store opening and closing activities.
• Ensure safe deposit of company funds and cash control.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked store and safe environment.
• Operate store in the store manager's absence.
• Review operating statements to identify trends and opportunities.
• Complete paperwork and documentation according to guidelines.
