This role develops external candidates for the Store Manager role and will be held for a limited period, with responsibilities including staffing, scheduling, loss prevention, and ensuring a safe shopping environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of retail experience preferred for external candidates.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposits.
• Ability to learn IBM cash register functions and generate reports.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Familiarity with cash, safety, and facility control policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Facilitate store merchandising and pricing per guidelines.
• Assist in inventory management, damages, markdowns and cycle counts.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Maintain store appearance and safety.
• Assist in opening/closing store and cash handling procedures.
• Review operating statements for trends and opportunities.
• Complete paperwork and documentation on time.
