Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in implementing store processes, supervising staff, managing inventory, stocking, and receiving. This role focuses on developing an external candidate for the Store Manager role for a limited period.

The candidate will help with recruiting, merchandising, inventory accuracy, pricing, and cash controls while ensuring a safe, clean, and well-stocked store environment. Strong customer service leadership is required.

Qualifications

• Two+ years in a leadership or managerial position.
• Two+ years in a retail grocery store strongly preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Aid store merchandising by staging, stocking, and pricing merchandise.
• Participate in inventory management, damages, markdowns, and paperwork.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide customer service leadership and act as a store role model.
• Participate in opening and closing activities and cash handling procedures.
• Review operating statements to identify trends and opportunities for expense control.
