Job summary

Goodwill of Western & Northern Connecticut is seeking a Store Manager to lead one of its New Milford stores. This role drives store operations, financial performance, staff supervision, and customer service excellence to support the organization’s mission.

The ideal candidate has strong leadership and merchandising skills, experience in retail management, and is prepared for day/evening/weekend shifts. Relocation may be required; healthcare and retirement benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Experience or education in Business and Marketing.
• Two years of experience in a management/supervisory position.
• Ability to supervise and train in shipping/receiving, stock duties, merchandising, cashiering, and customer service retail.
• Availability to work day, evening, and weekend shifts as necessary.
• Willing to travel or relocate.
• Must be able to lift over 40 pounds and stand for long periods.
• Exposure to inclement weather.
• Exposure to various merchandise with potential for contaminated or damaged items.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of store operations and financial performance.
• Recruit, train, and supervise retail team members.
• Delegate tasks and create staff schedules for service and displays.
• Order merchandise and maintain sales data and deposits.
• Plan merchandise displays and participate in marketing meetings.
• Maintain store premises and safety practices.
• Engage in community business activities.
