Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store leadership professional to manage all store operations, including staffing, training, and implementation of processes from ordering to checkout. The role focuses on maintaining accurate inventory, enforcing safety and security, and delivering excellent customer service.

Responsibilities include recruiting and coaching staff, overseeing cash handling and cash control, and ensuring the store meets stock and presentation standards while adhering to company policies

Qualifications

• Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, procedures manuals, and diagrams.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations including percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit controls.
• Ability to operate a cash register and generate reports.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills for team and customer interactions.
• Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, hiring, counseling and termination practices with legal compliance.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies (deposits, store keys).
• Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to solve problems across diverse situations.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, selects and retains qualified employees; ensures store is properly staffed.
• Provides training, conducts evaluations and addresses gaps through coaching or termination as needed.
• Advices on pay rates and advancement opportunities.
• Communicates performance, conduct and safety expectations; leads meetings to reinforce policies.
• Ensures store opens and closes on schedule and staffing coverage.
• Evaluates store financials to identify trends, costs and shrink.
• Manages ordering and stock targets; reviews replenishment plans weekly.
• Oversees stock staging, stocking and merchandise presentation per company standards.
• Maintains inventory accuracy through shrink control and proper paperwork.
• Ensures cashier accountability and adherence to security procedures.
• Delivers superior customer service leadership and a clean, safe store.
