Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store manager to lead all employees in planning and implementing store processes including ordering, receiving, stocking, presentation, selling and staffing.

You will recruit and train staff, manage performance, ensure compliance with laws, and maintain inventory and cash controls while delivering excellent customer service and a safe, clean store environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma; one year of management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to federal and state labor laws and company policies.
• Provide training, conduct performance evaluations, identify gaps, and counsel as needed.
• Make recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement.
• Communicate performance, conduct and safety expectations; coordinate meetings to ensure safety and policy adherence.
• Ensure store staffing and proper opening/closing each day.
• Open the store at least two times per week and close at least two times per week.
• Evaluate operating statements for sales, profitability, turns and expense control.
• Review ordering plans and inventory issues; follow up on stock replenishment.
• Staging, stocking and storage of merchandise according to company processes.
• Ensure merchandise presentation with pricing and signage per standards.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and strict cash control procedures.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Keep a clean, safe and well-organized store environment.
