Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to oversee all employees, plan and implement store processes including ordering, receiving, stocking, presentation and selling. You will lead staffing, training, performance evaluations and ensure compliance with policies and laws.

You will open and close the store multiple times weekly, manage operating statements, inventory, pricing, and customer service leadership while maintaining a safe, clean store environment and adherence to security practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Knowledge of federal and state labor laws and company policies for staffing.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to laws and policies; ensure proper staffing.
• Provide training, conduct evaluations, identify gaps for solutions or counseling including termination if needed.
• Make recommendations on pay rates and advancement opportunities.
• Regularly communicate performance, conduct and safety expectations; coordinate meetings and policy adherence.
