Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store leadership professional to oversee the management of all employees and the execution of store processes, including staffing, training, ordering, receiving, stocking, pricing and presentation.

You will drive performance through effective recruiting, coaching and evaluations, ensuring compliance with federal and state labor laws, while maintaining a safe, clean and well-organized shopping environment across shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to read and interpret various documents and diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees per laws and policies; ensure proper staffing.
• Provide training, conduct evaluations, and counsel or terminate as needed.
• Recommend employee pay rates and advancement.
• Communicate performance, safety expectations; lead meetings to enforce policies.
• Ensure store is staffed and opened/closed each day.
• Open/close the store at least twice weekly.
• Evaluate operating statements to identify trends and control costs.
• Order to meet or exceed in-stock targets; review weekly planning.
• Staging, stocking and merchandising per company practices.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and cash-handling controls.
• Deliver superior customer service leadership.
• Keep a clean, safe, and well-organized store.
• Ensure proper equipment and compliance with SOPs.
• Complete paperwork and documentation on deadlines.
