Job summary

Qualifications

• Reads and interprets documents such as diagrams, safety rules, and operating instructions.
• Performs basic math calculations including percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling, cashier accountability and deposits.
• Operates IBM cash register to generate reports.
• Understands inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Strong written and verbal communication; effective interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, hiring, counseling and termination practices.
• Familiar with cash, safety controls and store security policies.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Location may prefer bilingual Spanish speakers.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees; ensure proper staffing.
• Provide training, conduct evaluations, and counsel or terminate when needed.
• Recommend pay rate updates and advancement opportunities.
• Communicate performance and safety expectations; coordinate meetings.
• Open and close the store on schedule at least twice weekly.
• Evaluate operating statements to identify trends and opportunities.
• Order, stock and inventory management to meet in-stock targets.
• Ensure proper merchandising, pricing and signage; maintain inventory accuracy.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized store environment.
