Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit control.
• Familiarity with POS systems (IBM cash register) and inventory controls.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to laws and company policy; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provide training and conduct performance evaluations; identify gaps for counseling or termination.
• Recommend employee pay rate and advancement opportunities.
• Set expectations for performance, safety, and conduct; coordinate meetings.
• Open and close the store reliably as scheduled.
• Analyze operating statements to spot trends, manage expenses, shrink, and errors.
• Manage ordering to meet stock targets; review weekly plans and cycle counts.
• Ensure merchandise is staged, stocked, and presented per standards.
• Maintain inventory accuracy through diligent checks and controls.
• Uphold cash handling integrity, cashier accountability, and security practices.
• Deliver superior customer service leadership and maintain a clean store environment.
