Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an experienced store manager to oversee all team members and store operations. You will plan staffing, training, and scheduling, while ensuring compliance with policies and delivering strong customer service.

You will monitor inventory, pricing, and merchandising, open/close procedures, and safeguard assets. Strong communication and leadership are essential to drive store performance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or strongly preferred.
• Experience in management within retail environments is advantageous.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and loss prevention basics.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees; ensure proper staffing and scheduling.
• Provide training and conduct performance evaluations; counsel or terminate as needed.
• Determine pay rates and advancement opportunities; communicate expectations.
• Maintain store opening/closing routines and safe, clean operation.
• Monitor sales, inventory, and expenses; manage in-stock levels and shrink.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, labor laws and safety requirements.
• Lead customer service efforts and maintain presentation, pricing and signage standards.
