Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store leadership professional to manage all store processes, including staffing, training, ordering, receiving, stocking and presenting merchandise. You will lead a team, ensure compliance with policies, and drive daily operations from opening to closing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to labor laws and company policies; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provide proper training for employees; conduct performance evaluations and counseling as needed.
• Make recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement.
• Communicate performance, conduct and safety expectations; coordinate meetings to ensure policy compliance.
• Open and close the store as required; manage daily store operations.
• Evaluate operating statements to identify sales trends, profitability and control opportunities.
• Review ordering plans to meet in-stock targets and manage inventory weekly.
• Ensure merchandise is presented according to standards and pricing is accurate.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels and cash controls; ensure security practices.
