Dollar General in Ohio seeks an experienced Store Manager to lead all store operations, including planning, ordering, receiving, stocking, merchandising and customer service, while building a capable, compliant team.

You will recruit, train and evaluate staff, manage daily financial controls and safety procedures, and ensure the store achieves in‑stock targets and excellent shrink and profitability performance.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret diagrams, safety rules, and procedures manuals.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations including percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposits.
• Ability to operate cash registers and generate reports.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Good interpersonal skills and teamwork.
• Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, hiring, counseling and termination practices.
• Understanding of cash, facility and safety control policies.
• Excellent organization and attention to detail.
• Strong problem-solving abilities.

Responsabilités

• Recruit, select, and retain qualified employees per policy; ensure staffing.
• Provide training and evaluate performance; address gaps.
• Advise on pay rate and advancement.
• Communicate expectations; coordinate safety and policy meetings.
• Open/close store as required; ensure staffing.
• Analyze operating statements for sales, profitability, and shrink.
• Manage ordering to meet in-stock targets; review weekly plans.
• Facilitate efficient merchandising, stocking, and storage of merchandise.
• Maintain presentation, pricing and signage per standards.
• Maintain inventory accuracy; manage damages, markdowns, and deposits.
• Lead customer service and maintain a safe, clean environment.
• Ensure tools and equipment are available; follow SOPs.
• Complete all paperwork and documentation on deadlines.
