Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in daily operations including staffing, inventory, stocking, paperwork, and store needs. This role is temporary and focuses on developing an external candidate for the Store Manager position.

The candidate will assist with recruiting, merchandising, inventory management, and ensuring safety and cash controls. You will participate in opening/closing duties and help maintain store standards across all areas.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 2+ years of leadership or managerial experience.
• 2+ years of experience in a retail grocery store preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Facilitates and participates in staging, stocking and merchandising per store direction.
• Participates in inventory management, damages, markdowns, and paperwork.
• Monitors in-stock targets and assists with ordering practices.
• Provides strong customer service leadership and operates store in the manager's absence.
• Reviews operating statements to identify trends and opportunities for efficiency.
• Completes all paperwork and documentation according to guidelines and deadlines.
