Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in staffing, inventory management, merchandising, cash handling, and daily store operations. This role is temporary to develop external candidates for the Store Manager position and will be for a limited period.

The candidate will participate in hiring, inventory control, and adherence to company policies while contributing to a safe, well-organized store environment and strong customer service leadership.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in retail environment helps external candidates.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and perform basic math.

Responsibilities

• Assist in staffing and recruiting activities.
• Assist merchandising and merchandising presentation.
• Assist with inventory management and cycle counts.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide customer service leadership and store operations support.
• Walkthroughs of opening/closing, cash handling and deposit procedures.
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and well-stocked store environment.
