The Store Manager In Training (SMIT) job is a development-focused role designed to prepare you for a CVS Store Manager position. The SMIT program enhances your career as a future store leader through a self-paced, collaborative training over 16 weeks, including virtual and hands-on learning experiences. Support for your growth includes your District Leader, Human Resources Business Partner, Training Store Manager, and Store Manager coach.

Key skills needed for this role include:

  1. Effective verbal and written communication to support and lead your team.
  2. Performing customer care duties to ensure high service levels.
  3. Executing merchandising strategies to support store sales growth.
  4. Managing store inventory and assets to maintain profitability.

Our expectations for SMITs are:

  1. Actively engaging with your leader during Key Learning Experiences to support your promotion path.
  2. Supporting your store as a management team member in accordance with CVS values and policies.
  3. Engaging colleagues to support the company's purpose of 'helping people on their path to better health.'
  4. Willingness to accept promotion roles within the market.
  5. Acceptance that promotion to Store Manager depends on performance and openings.
  6. Willingness to accept a Store Manager role at any location within the market and transfer as needed.
  7. Ability to work a schedule that varies based on business needs.

Minimum requirements include:

  1. High School diploma or GED (required).
  2. Bachelor's Degree (preferred).
  3. Retail management experience or experience as a CVS Supervisor.
