Job Objectives
Manages the operation of a Walgreens store. Improves store sales, profitability, and image through proper merchandising, protection of store assets, the selection, training, and development of team members, and modeling and delivering a distinctive and delightful customer and patient experience.
Job Responsibilities/Tasks
Customer Experience
- Monitors and analyzes customer service provided by team members, offering reminders, training, and developing action plans for improvement in retail and pharmacy.
- Greets customers and clinic patients, and offers assistance with products and services.
- Models and shares customer service best practices to deliver a distinctive experience, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
- Resolves customer complaints and responds to customers’ special needs.
Operations
- Supervises store and pharmacy operations, including shifts, task delegation, and scheduling.
- Controls store money, oversees bookkeeping, and manages inventory, including ordering and stock management.
- Ensures store cleanliness, repair, maintenance, and compliance with laws and regulations.
- Ensures staff is knowledgeable about computer and technology systems.
- Completes special assignments and maintains respectful relationships with coworkers.
Daily Planning and Execution
- Assigns daily responsibilities and sets expectations for team members and assistant managers.
Business Performance Management
- Analyzes financial data, develops action plans to increase sales, and reduce loss.
- Reviews KPIs and pharmacy performance indicators, working with pharmacy and clinic managers to enhance performance.
Business Planning
- Identifies sales opportunities and manages inventory levels to ensure store growth and performance.
People and Performance Management
- Manages team performance, training, hiring, promotions, and discipline.
- Develops employee performance plans, monitors compensation, and promotes teamwork and motivation.
- Ensures compliance with policies and employment laws, and maintains open communication.
Training and Personal Development
- Participates in training, follows performance improvement plans, and obtains necessary certifications and licensures.
- Seeks self-development and learning about retail, management, and pharmacy fields.
Communications
- Serves as liaison between district, corporate, and store, and participates in community outreach and events.
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree and 3 years retail management experience or a High School Diploma/GED with 5 years management experience.
- Licensed pharmacy technician or pharmacy assistant as required by state law.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
