Job summary

Dollar General Store Manager Candidate in the United States supports the Store Manager in daily operations, supervision, staffing, inventory, stocking and receiving. This role is designed to foster external leadership development for the Store Manager track and is held for a limited period.

Responsibilities include assisting in recruiting, merchandising, inventory accuracy, cash handling, and maintaining a safe, well-organized store environment while modeling company policies and guiding team

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising by staging, stocking and signing merchandise and applying pricing.
• Assist in inventory management including damages, markdowns, scanning, paperwork and controls; prepare inventories.
• Follow ordering practices to meet or exceed in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Act as a role model by following company procedures and policies.
• Participate in store opening and closing activities.
• Ensure safe deposit of all company funds in the designated bank.
• Assist in maintaining financial integrity through cashier accountability and cash control procedures.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked store and safe environment for customers and employees.
• Operate store in the store manager's absence.
• Review operating statements to identify trends and opportunities.
• Complete all paperwork and documentation according to guidelines and deadlines.
