Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate in Michigan to support the Store Manager with staffing, inventory, merchandising, and store operations. The role is aimed at developing external candidates for the Store Manager path and will be held for a limited period.

The incumbent will assist in recruiting, manage cash controls, supervise staff, and help ensure excellent customer service while maintaining shop standards and safety. This position requires travel between stores as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.
• Preference may be given to bilingual Spanish speakers depending on location.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising by facilitating staging, stocking and storage per manager direction.
• Assist in inventory management including damages, markdowns, scanning, paperwork.
• Follow prescribed ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Operate store in store manager's absence.
• Review operating statements to identify trends and opportunities.
• Complete all paperwork and documentation on deadlines.
