Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in supervising staff, stocking, inventory management, paperwork, and daily store needs. This role is designed to develop external candidates for the Store Manager position on a limited basis.

Responsibilities include assisting with recruiting, merchandising, inventory control, pricing, and cash handling, while providing leadership and ensuring compliance with company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• 1 year retail experience preferred for external candidates.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling and store procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and proper pricing of merchandise.
• Assist in all inventory management tasks and prepare inventories.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide customer service leadership and be a store role model.
• Participate in opening/closing activities and maintain cash controls.
