Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate in Virginia, Orange, to support the Store Manager in staffing, inventory and store operations. You will help with recruitment, merchandising, inventory control, and financial diligence while maintaining store standards and customer service excellence.

The role involves assisting in opening/closing, ensuring cash controls, and following company procedures. Some travel to nearby stores may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising by staging, stocking and pricing merchandise per store manager direction.
• Assist in inventory management including damages, markdowns, scans, paperwork and facility controls; prepare inventories.
• Follow prescribed ordering to meet or exceed in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Operate store in store manager’s absence.
• Review operating statements to identify trends, expenses, shrink and errors.
• Complete all paperwork and documentation on schedule.
