Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in staffing, inventory, merchandising, and store operations across our locations. This role develops external candidates for the Store Manager position and serves for a limited period.

The candidate will recruit, staff, run inventories, ensure in-stock targets, provide customer service leadership, enforce cash handling and security procedures, and help open/close stores while maintaining a safe, well-stocked store.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret documents, safety rules, and manuals.
• Perform basic math operations for store operations and reporting.
• Know cash handling procedures and deposit controls.
• Operate IBM cash register and generate reports.
• Understand inventory management and merchandising practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and stocking according to policy.
• Assist in inventory management and prepare inventories.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide customer service leadership.
• Open/close the store as needed.
• Ensure safe deposit of company funds.
