Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in staff supervision, inventory control, merchandising, and daily store operations. This role focuses on developing external candidates for the Store Manager position and performing duties during a limited period.

You will assist in recruiting, oversee merchandising, inventory management, and cashier controls, and help ensure a safe, well-stocked store. Travel to nearby stores may be required.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to read and interpret diagrams, safety rules, and procedures manuals.
• Strong math skills including percentages and basic calculations.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit controls.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and pricing according to company standards.
• Help manage inventory, damages, markdowns, and reporting.
• Maintain in-stock targets through proper ordering practices.
• Provide superior customer service leadership and store operations support.
