Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in supervision, inventory control, stocking, and store needs. The role focuses on developing external candidates for future Store Manager duties and requires teamwork and strong customer service leadership.

Responsibilities include assisting in staffing, merchandising, and financial controls, while maintaining a safe, well-organized store. Travel to nearby stores may be required.

Qualifications

• Ability to read diagrams, safety rules and procedures.
• Basic math and percentage calculations for targets.
• Knowledge of cash handling, deposits and cashier accountability.
• Familiarity with IBM cash register functions and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Assist store manager in supervision and staff development.
• Support inventory management, stocking and receiving tasks.
• Participate in merchandising, pricing, and signing standards.
• Help ensure in-stock targets and supplier adherence.
• Provide customer service leadership and store operations support.
• Maintain store cleanliness and safety for customers and employees.
