The Store Manager is responsible for delivering an exceptional luxury client experience, developing a high-performing team, and driving the commercial and operational success of the Madison Avenue boutique.
This leader sets the standard for personalized service, clienteling, team development, and store execution. They maintain a strong presence on the selling floor, build lasting client relationships, and coach the team to deliver consistent results independently.
Key Responsibilities
Client Experience & Clienteling
- Model an elevated, personalized luxury experience and maintain a visible presence on the selling floor.
- Coach the team on client engagement, styling, product storytelling, cross-selling, and closing.
- Build and maintain relationships with high-value and long-term clients.
- Establish expectations for outreach, appointments, follow-up, retention, and CRM engagement.
- Develop local partnerships, events, and business opportunities that generate new and repeat clientele.
- Maintain exceptional hospitality, product knowledge, store presentation, and service standards.
- Recruit, onboard, coach, develop, and retain a high-performing luxury retail team.
- Set clear expectations and provide timely, specific, and constructive feedback.
- Conduct regular coaching and development conversations focused on selling, clienteling, and leadership capabilities.
- Address performance concerns promptly and professionally.
- Identify high-potential talent and support succession and career development.
- Maintain appropriate staffing and scheduling based on client traffic and business needs.
Commercial Performance
- Own store performance against sales goals, prior-year results, and key retail KPIs.
- Analyze traffic, conversion, transactions, ATV, UPT, and clienteling productivity.
- Translate business results into clear strategies, coaching priorities, and action plans.
- Identify performance gaps early and implement solutions to improve traffic, conversion, retention, and client spend.
- Ensure each team member understands their individual contribution to overall store performance.
Operations & Brand Standards
- Oversee daily operations, including opening and closing, cash handling, inventory, shipments, transfers, returns, scheduling, and reporting.
- Ensure administrative responsibilities are completed accurately and on time.
- Maintain a polished luxury environment across windows, product displays, fitting rooms, and back-of-house areas.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, visual direction, and operational standards.
- Communicate business, staffing, client, and operational risks promptly, along with recommended solutions.
- Partner effectively with regional leadership, Human Resources, Visual Merchandising, Operations, and other corporate functions.
The Store Manager is expected to:

Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive retail leadership experience, preferably within luxury fashion, premium retail, hospitality, or another service-driven environment.
- Previous Store Manager experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated success delivering an elevated luxury client experience.
- Proven ability to recruit, coach, develop, and retain high-performing teams.
- Strong clienteling background and ability to build long-term client relationships.
- Knowledge of the New York luxury market is highly desirable.
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of retail KPIs.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including weekends and key business periods.
