Job summary

Mondo is seeking an experienced Store Manager for its flagship New York boutique. You will lead the team on the sales floor, deliver a premium client experience, and foster lasting customer relationships while driving sales performance.

The ideal candidate has luxury retail leadership experience, strong product knowledge, and a passion for high-end fashion. This onsite role in New York requires flexibility for evenings and weekends and offers competitive base plus commission.

Qualifications

  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 6 years of customer service experience within contemporary or luxury retail.
  • Previous leadership experience managing retail teams and driving sales performance.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and clienteling skills.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and highly organized.
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Lead by example through active selling and exceptional client engagement on the sales floor.

  • Recruit, develop, and retain top retail talent.
  • Oversee daily merchandise processing, inventory movement, and shipping.
  • Partner with the District Manager to execute business action plans that drive sales across product categories.
  • Monitor inventory levels to maximize sell-through and support new product launches.
  • Manage opening and closing procedures, POS operations, and daily administrative responsibilities.
  • Maintain exceptional store presentation and cleanliness throughout the sales floor and back areas.
  • Train and educate the team on current collections, merchandising initiatives, and seasonal priorities.

Job Responsibilities
  • Leadership & Sales
    • Ensure compliance with company policies and operational standards.
    • Lead by example through active selling and exceptional client engagement on the sales floor.
    • Deliver an elevated customer experience while growing and maintaining a loyal client base.
    • Ensure consistent client follow-up through personalized outreach and tailored recommendations.
    • Achieve and exceed personal sales and store performance goals.
    • Serve as a mentor and coach, fostering product knowledge, brand awareness, and a collaborative team culture.
    • Stay informed on industry trends, competitors, and emerging fashion movements.
    • Recruit, develop, and retain top retail talent.
    • Increase brand awareness through community outreach and in-store events.
  • Operations
    • Oversee daily merchandise processing, inventory movement, and shipping.
    • Partner with the District Manager to execute business action plans that drive sales across product categories.
    • Monitor inventory levels to maximize sell-through and support new product launches.
    • Manage opening and closing procedures, POS operations, and daily administrative responsibilities.
    • Maintain exceptional store presentation and cleanliness throughout the sales floor, fitting rooms, cash wrap, stockroom, and employee areas.
    • Ensure the team completes daily housekeeping responsibilities to maintain a luxury shopping environment.
  • Performance Management
    • Train and educate the team on current collections, merchandising initiatives, and seasonal priorities.
    • Inspire collaboration through strong product knowledge and fashion expertise.
    • Maintain visual merchandising and housekeeping standards.
    • Conduct regular coaching conversations and performance reviews.
    • Establish individual development goals and create action plans in partnership with the District Manager.
    • Prepare monthly schedules based on business needs and ensure timely payroll submissions.
    • Communicate KPIs clearly and implement strategies to achieve store goals.
    • Support the planning and execution of store events, product launches, and promotional initiatives.
    • Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support business objectives.
