Job summary

Rural King is seeking a Maintenance Associate to ensure cleanliness, safety, and upkeep of our store environment inside and out. You will perform routine cleaning, operate floor scrubber, and assist in stocking and basic repairs to support a positive shopping experience for customers and a well-maintained workplace for staff.

The role requires attention to detail, the ability to lift up to 30 pounds, flexible hours including weekends, and good communication.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of retail cashier or supervisory experience or equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Meticulous attention to detail and strong math skills for accurate cash handling.
• Demonstrated ability to thoroughly review and analyze information, identifying errors or inconsistencies to maintain high levels of accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills to implement policies and procedures, direct staff, and provide customer service.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning and maintenance activities to uphold the store’s appearance and hygiene standards.
• Sweep, mop, and run floor scrubber regularly to keep a clean and safe surface for both customers and associates.
• Empty trash receptacles and replace garbage bags to maintain a tidy environment.
• Clean and disinfect restrooms and breakrooms, ensuring they are well-stocked with essential supplies.
• Wipe down surfaces such as counters, display shelves, and fixtures to maintain a polished and organized presentation.
• Conduct basic repairs and maintenance activities such as changing light bulbs, fixing minor plumbing issues, and repairing damaged fixtures.
• Monitor and report any safety hazards, malfunctioning equipment, or maintenance needs to the appropriate supervisor.
• Assist in store activities such as unloading trucks, stocking, or zoning merchandise when time allows.
