Job summary

Rural King is seeking a Maintenance Associate to ensure the cleanliness, safety, and upkeep of the store environment, indoors and out. The role emphasizes attention to detail and a proactive maintenance mindset to create a positive shopping experience for customers and a well-maintained workplace for staff.

Responsibilities include cleaning, floor care, trash removal, restroom sanitation, basic repairs, safety reporting, and cross-training for flexibility in departments.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of retail cashier or supervisory experience or an equivalent combo of experience and education.
• Meticulous attention to detail and strong math skills for accurate cash handling.
• Excellent communication skills to implement policies and procedures, direct staff, and provide customer service.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey ideas, instructions, and information clearly.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning and maintenance activities to uphold the store’s appearance and hygiene standards.
• Sweep, mop, and run floor scrubber regularly to keep a clean and safe surface for customers and associates.
• Empty trash receptacles and replace garbage bags to maintain a tidy environment.
• Clean and disinfect restrooms and breakrooms, ensuring they are well-stocked with essential supplies.
• Wipe down surfaces such as counters, display shelves, and fixtures to maintain a polished and organized presentation.
