Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate in the United States to support the Store Manager in all store processes, including employee supervision, staffing, inventory management, stocking, and paperwork. This role aims to develop an external candidate for the Store Manager position for a limited period.

The role emphasizes merchandising, cash handling, training, and adherence to company policies while enabling a smooth opening/closing of the store and maintaining a safe environment

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.
• Proven ability to recruit, hire and train staff and ensure compliance with labor laws.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills; bilingual Spanish is a plus.
• Ability to read diagrams, safety rules, procedures and use cash handling procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising, staging, stocking and pricing of merchandise.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management and conduct inventories.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Open and close the store; maintain cash control and security practices.
• Review operating statements to identify trends and opportunities.
• Ensure store cleanliness, safety and compliance with policies.
