Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in supervising employees, managing staffing, inventory, stocking, and related store processes. The role is for a limited period to develop external candidates for the Store Manager position.

You will assist in merchandising, inventory control, cash handling, and maintaining a safe, well-stocked store while following company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions and procedures manuals.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and staging of merchandise according to store manager direction.
• Help manage inventory, including damages, markdowns, scan audits and paperwork.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Attend store opening/closing activities and ensure funds are deposited securely.
