Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in daily operations, staffing, inventory, merchandising, and customer service leadership. This role is designed to develop external candidates for the Store Manager position for a limited period.

The candidate will assist in recruiting, stock management, and ensuring adherence to company procedures while maintaining store integrity, safety, and accurate cash handling. Travel to nearby stores may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit controls.
• Familiarity with IBM cash register functions and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and price signage.
• Assist in inventory management, damages, markdowns, and stock control.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide customer service leadership.
• Follow company policies and SOPs.
• Participate in opening/closing activities.
• Maintain fiscal controls and cash deposits.
