Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in daily store operations, supervision, staffing, inventory management, stocking and receiving. This role serves as a development path for future Store Manager responsibilities in a fast-paced retail environment.

The candidate will assist in merchandising, inventory controls, cashier accountability, and customer service leadership while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.
• Ability to read and interpret documents, safety rules and procedures.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations and percentages.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and stocking per manager direction.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management and paperwork.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide customer service leadership.
• Act as a role model by following company policies.
• Participate in store opening and closing activities.
• Ensure secure deposit of company funds and cash control.
