Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in staffing, inventory, merchandising, and store operations. The role focuses on developing an external candidate for the Store Manager role for a limited period.

The position requires leadership experience, strong customer service, and adherence to company policies while ensuring store targets and financial controls are maintained.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Two or more years of leadership or managerial experience.
• Two or more years of retail grocery store experience preferred.
• Experience in recruiting and staffing practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising by staging, stocking, and storage of merchandise; ensure presentation per policy.
• Assist in inventory management including damages, markdowns, scans, paperwork and controls.
• Follow ordering practices to meet or exceed in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Model company procedures and policies from handbook and SOPs.
• Participate in store opening and closing activities.
• Ensure safe deposit of company funds and cashier accountability.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked stores and safe environment.
• Operate store in the store manager's absence.
• Review operating statements for trends and cost-control opportunities.
