Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate in Belle Vernon, PA, to assist the Store Manager with staffing, inventory control, merchandising and customer service. This role focuses on developing an external candidate for the Store Manager position and will be for a limited period.

The role requires strong cash handling, merchandising, and reporting abilities, with emphasis on compliance and store security procedures. Travel to Dollar General stores may be involved.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.
• Ability to recruit, hire and train qualified applicants.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit controls.
• Certain store locations may give preference to bilingual Spanish speakers.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising by facilitating staging, stocking and storage of merchandise.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management and prepare inventories.
• Follow prescribed ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Operate store in store manager's absence.
• Review operating statements to identify business trends and opportunities.
• Complete all paperwork and documentation according to guidelines and deadlines.
