Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• 2+ years in leadership or managerial position.
• 2+ years in retail grocery store experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit controls.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies and practices.
• Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, hiring, counseling, and termination practices including legal compliance and internal processes.
• Proficient in interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to solve problems in varied situations with limited standardization.

Responsibilities

• Assists in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assists with store merchandising per manager direction; staging, stocking and pricing.
• Assists in inventory management and prepares inventories.
• Follows prescribed ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provides superior customer service leadership.
• Follows company procedures and policies as outlined in manuals.
• Participates in store opening and closing activities.
• Ensures safe deposits of company funds.
• Maintains cash control and security practices.
• Maintains clean, well-stocked stores and safe environment.
• Operates store in manager’s absence.
• Reviews operating statements for trends and opportunities.
• Completes paperwork according to guidelines and deadlines.
