Job summary

O'Reilly Auto Parts is seeking an Assistant Manager-in-training to support store operations, sales, and team leadership. This role focuses on developing future store leaders while ensuring excellent customer service and operational efficiency.

The position emphasizes hands-on training across merchandising, personnel decisions, and safety compliance, with a goal of preparing for management responsibilities at a future location.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Must complete Assistant Manager Certification, Sales Specialist Training, and Manager Development Program.
• Knowledge of automotive parts, equipment and systems.
• Ability to read and match numerical/alpha characters quickly and accurately.
• Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired).

Responsibilities

• Supervise the professional and retail operations of store and team members involved.
• Recruiting, testing, hiring, evaluating, promoting, disciplining and discharging team members.
• Train new team members and conduct performance evaluations; recommend pay increases.
• Assist in recruiting tasks, scheduling and interviewing; ensure qualified hires.
• Support safety training and compliance; monitor safety expectations.
• Make sales calls with the store manager and schedule weekly customer calls.
• Manage delivery fleet and payroll; ensure store and hub store clean and organized.
• Review KPI dashboard daily and discuss opportunities; review monthly P&L with store manager.
