Job summary

Dollar General Store Manager Candidate supports the Store Manager in implementing store processes, supervising staff, inventory management, stocking and receiving, paperwork, and store needs. This role develops an external candidate for the Store Manager position for a limited period.

The position emphasizes recruiting support, merchandising, inventory controls, cash handling, and delivering strong customer service leadership while operating in the manager's absence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit controls.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and staging of merchandise.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management and prepare inventories.
• Follow prescribed ordering to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Operate store in store manager's absence.
• Review operating statements for business trends and control opportunities.
• Complete all paperwork and documentation on time.
