Job summary

ALDI is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in New Jersey to support the direct leader in supervising day-to-day store activities and drive store performance. You will help manage schedules, develop action plans, and identify training opportunities to grow the team.

The role requires strong leadership, communication, and customer service, with an emphasis on maintaining store standards, inventory accuracy, and loss prevention. Salary starts at $27 per hour, with a raise to $28 per hour in year 2.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 3 years of progressive experience in a retail environment.
• Prior management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists the direct leader with developing and implementing action plans to improve operating results.
• Establishes and communicates job responsibilities and performance expectations to direct reports.
• Identifies training and development opportunities for direct reports to improve performance.
• Models company values to foster teamwork and engagement.
• Monitors competitive environment and informs leadership of adjustments to stay competitive.
• Provides product feedback and recommendations on items to carry or discontinue.
• Participates in interviewing store personnel.
• Communicates weekly information and milestones to the team.
• Ensures inventory procedures, product handling, and cash control to minimize losses.
