Job summary

Famous Footwear in Round Rock, TX is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to lead the team in the Store Manager’s absence. You’ll drive customer connections, coaching associates, and ensure flawless in‑store execution across sales, service, and operations.

You love shoes, stay current on trends, and motivate others to hit sales targets while maintaining an inclusive, high‑energy culture. This role offers growth opportunities within Caleres’ Famous Footwear network.

Qualifications

• Has a High School Diploma/GED.
• Has at least 1 year of sales experience (retail sales preferred).
• Demonstrates experience in interviewing, hiring, and training people.
• Exhibits an ability to lead, manage, motivate, and communicate positively with store Associates at all levels.
• Displays ability to train, coach and develop Associates to provide an engaging customer experience and execute operational tasks.
• Exercises independent judgment and discretion partnering with Store Sales Manager, as needed.
• Demonstrates strong cognitive skills, including problem solving analysis, decision making, and financial and quantitative analysis.
• Has advanced working knowledge of general retail practices and procedures.
• Can work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours.
• Has basic computer skills.

• Champion Talent Discovery: you’ll be enthusiastic about seeking out and networking with exceptional external talent, collaborating with the Store Manager to interview and hire individuals passionate about top‑notch customer experiences.
• Ace Retail Operations & Support Staffing Levels: you’ve got daily operations dialed in, from pricing to shipping processing and inventory, and you’ll support staffing levels set by the Store Manager.
• Leverage Insights to Deliver Results: take accountability for your goals and apply insights to improve results.
• Be a Culture Builder: you’ll support a work environment where diversity and inclusivity are valued, uplifting and supporting others.
• Be our Store Manager’s Right Hand: when the Store Manager is away, you will step into their shoes, developing leadership and store management skills.
