Job summary

Famous Footwear seeks an Assistant Store Manager to lead in the Store Manager's absence, champion customer-focused service, and drive sales growth. You’ll coach and develop a team, manage daily store operations, and ensure policy adherence while delivering a great customer experience.

You’ll foster an inclusive, high-energy culture, stay current with fashion trends, and model the Famous Feeling in every customer interaction. This role requires flexibility and strong leadership.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of sales experience, retail preferred.
• Experience interviewing, hiring and training people.
• Ability to lead, manage, motivate and communicate positively with store Associates.
• Ability to train and coach Associates to provide an engaging customer experience.
• Exercises independent judgment partnering with Store Sales Manager.
• Strong cognitive skills: problem solving, analysis, decision making.
• Advanced knowledge of general retail practices and procedures.
• Flexible schedule including holidays, nights, weekends, extended hours.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspire associates to deliver strong customer relationships and operational excellence.
• Collaborate with Store Manager to interview, hire and onboard new talent.
• Oversee pricing, shipping processing, and inventory to keep stores running smoothly.
• Drive sales and apply store insights to improve performance.
• Foster a diverse, inclusive culture and positive team environment.
• Act as Store Manager’s right hand and cover store leadership when away.
