Job summary

Dollar Tree in Sioux City, IA is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily store operations, support customer service, and develop the store team. You will assist with merchandising, openings and closings, and ensure safety and asset protection.

The role requires strong communication, teamwork, and the ability to lift up to 55 lbs. You will train associates, uphold company policies, and maintain clean, well-organized sales floor and stockroom.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties as described.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process directives and communications related to store activities
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash handling, and loss prevention
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards
• Protect and secure all company assets, including cash
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure staff follow procedures
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Maintain a positive, safe environment with professional interactions
• Keep store clean, restrooms stocked, floors swept/mopped, trash removed, neat and presentable
• Other duties as assigned
