Job summary

Dollar Tree in Sioux Falls, SD is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help oversee daily store operations, deliver excellent customer service, and develop a high-performing team. You will assist with opening/closing, merchandising, scheduling, and ensuring standards are met.

This role emphasizes hands-on leadership, loss prevention, safety compliance, and keeping the sales floor stocked and welcoming. The successful candidate will communicate clearly and work well in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Requires ability to read and interpret operational directives
• Store management experience in retail/grocery preferred
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Assist in organizing and transferring merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor
• Perform opening and closing procedures
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, records (payroll, scheduling, cash deposits) and loss prevention
• Maintain a well-stocked, clean store and secure assets
• Adhere to safety guidelines and company policies
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop store associates
• Ensure a positive, safe environment and professional interactions with customers and staff
• Keep store clean, restrooms stocked, floors swept/mopped, trash removed
