Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Iowa to help oversee store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day-to-day store activities, support the Store Manager, and ensure a safe, welcoming environment for customers and associates.

Key duties include organizing merchandise, processing directives, maintaining displays, and training Store Associates. We value strong communication, problem solving, and the ability to lift up to 55 lbs as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives is required
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent movement including walking, standing, stooping and bending
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Help organize, and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process corporate directives and any communications related to store activities
• Maintain promotional displays and fixtures
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, records, payroll, scheduling, cash deposits
• Maintain store areas to company standards and protect assets including cash
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure associates follow procedures
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Ensure a positive, safe, respectful environment with customers and staff
• Keep the store clean including bathrooms, floors, and waste disposal
• Other duties as assigned
