Job summary

Meijer is recruiting for its Store Leadership Internship, an experiential program for students pursuing a Bachelor’s degree, offering interaction with senior leaders and a path toward store leadership roles.

Interns work in a live store environment, gain exposure to operations, leadership rotations, and development programs, with potential progression to full-time roles and leadership positions in a multi-state retail network.

Qualifications

• The Meijer Store Leadership Internship is an experiential program designed for students currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program.
• Ability to work flexible shifts to gain exposure to the full operation of the store.
• Prior experience in retail is preferred, but not required.
• Past leadership responsibilities in work or extracurricular activities strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members.
• Support department in achieving sales, maintaining shrink, and managing the P&L.
• Model exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Mentor and coach team members to ensure customer service and sales goals are exceeded and the area is maintained to Meijer standards.
• Mentor and coach new team members to the department and help ensure they are onboarded and completing required training.
• Spend majority of time within the store communicating with customers and team members to ensure exceptional service is being delivered.
• Promote a safe work environment.
• Reliable and consistent attendance required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
