Job summary

Meijer Store Leadership Internship builds retail knowledge and leadership through challenging projects and rotations across store departments. Interns interact with senior leaders and participate in structured development to accelerate leadership capabilities.

The 11-week program includes real projects, executive presentations, and opportunities to convert to a full-time role based on performance, with ongoing training and mentorship to grow in retail leadership.

Qualifications

• The internship is designed for students currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program.
• Ability to work flexible shifts to gain exposure to the full operation of the store.
• Prior experience in retail is preferred, but not required.
• Past leadership responsibilities in work or extracurricular activities strongly preferred.
• Passion for retail and a desire to enter a career in store leadership.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs and supervises team members in day-to-day operations within various departments of the store.
• Serves as mentor and coach for all team members.
• Implements strategies to improve customer service and drive store sales.
• Maintain store appearance with focus on prime hours and product presentation.
• Mentor and coach team members to ensure customer service and sales goals are met.
• Spend majority of time in-store communicating with customers and team members.
• Promote a safe work environment.
• Reliable and consistent attendance required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
